On Saturday, November 20, 2021, “Focus On Children Now” charity market was held in the premises of Saint Leon Armenian church in Burbank California.
The main purpose of this market was
- Shop for the holidays
- Support small businesses in Armenia
- Help feed and educate our kindergarteners in Armenia and Artsakh, As always, 100% of proceeds from our market will go toward initiatives directly benefiting children of Armenia & Artsakh
The following is a briefing of this occasion by the FCN foundation.
The annual holiday market, is intended to be FCN’s community outreach in greater Los Angeles area.
As a grassroots organization, we value the interaction with our volunteers and sponsors. Our market is a testament to the fact that philanthropy is a lifestyle and as much as we value the impact that we have made in Armenia, we think that we also need to give back to our community of sponsors, donors and volunteers.
Our holiday market is an energetic and exciting gathering for our community and especially our sponsors, many of whom participate to renew their vows with the organization and its cause.
Several of these participants come in to purchase homemade food prepared by committed volunteers of FCN, most of which are donated to our event.
We have also recently started an initiative at FCN to support small businesses and artists in Armenia, to provide them with employment opportunities and to promote their products. For that purpose, through the ShopFCN online platform, we handpick and individually bring in a spectrum of artifacts, paintings, clay material and many more items that are made in Armenia and are represented at our event.
In addition to all that, we had a mission to engage more children and make the event a family friendly activity this year, as we believe in raising a generation that cares and feels connected to their brothers and sisters in the homeland.
Funds that are collected during this event is usually allocated to our different nutrition, humanitarian and education programs in Armenia.
